Job Description:

Maintenance of office logistical functions including coordination of teams working out in the field of the IDP project consistent with Merlin protocols and procedures, to ensure program objectives are achieved in collaboration with the Field Logistician, Medical Officer, and the wider program.



  • · Responsible for carrying out program non-medical activities including local stock management and equipment maintenance in co-ordination with the Field Logistician/Logistics Officer.
  • · Maintaining logistical files in conjunction with the Field Logistician/Logistics Officer.
  • · Assistance in stock control consistent with Merlin protocols and procedures.
  • · Providing efficient and appropriate logistics support to all teams for the effective running of their site activities including, maintenance and re-supply.
  • · Manage equipment, schedules and filing of documentation.
  • · Ensure logistical systems and procedures are maintained and records are up to date.

Job Requirements:

  • · Strong administration and organisational ability.
  • · Good computer skills including excel and word
  • · Ability to represent Merlin at all levels
  • · Ability to remain calm and to be diplomatic at all times.
  • · Excellent communication skills, with good spoken and written English
  • · Experience working with an NGO
  • · Excellent management and personnel skills
  • · Ability and flexibility to understand the cultural and political environment and to work well with the local authorities.
  • · Good team player.
  • · Able to read and interpret a manual
  • · Able to use own initiative and enable creative solutions.




  • · Previous logistical and operational experience.
  • · Experience of work in emergency or outbreak project.
  • · Previous experience within the region.
  • · Previous experience within a humanitarian aid organisation in an insecure environment.
  • · Experience of project administration/management, and the ability to work independently.
  • · Problem solving ability with equipment ranging from PC’s to vehicles radios and satellite equipment.
