Job Description:

  • Assist in developing the BCC framework in close collaboration with National BCC coordinator and the project team.
  • Assist the National BCC coordinator in adapting/developing IEC materials for health and nutrition related BCC activities
  • Adapt/develop the training packages in close collaboration with the national BCC coordinator and DCHD/Nutrition Coordinator and project team
  • Assist the PMC & NBCC in arranging/conducting training for Health and nutrition related activities in line with the agreed curriculum
  • Conduct trainings of the communities in health and hygiene promotion and the implementation of different techniques & activities in selected communities as per PHC and CMAM implementation calendar.
  • Train project staff on the use of IEC material and health education methodologies
  • Participate in community based health surveys (qualitative and quantitative)
  • Organize health related activities through the network of health promoters and/or LHWs
  • Establish community-based structures such as community health committees or Support Groups and link them up with the health facilities including regular meetings among the CHCs and health.
  • Serve as first point of contact with the communities and with the support of DCHD, PMC, Nutritionist and BCC implement greater accountability to the beneficiaries and communities
  • Collate all the data in regard to health activities and assist in preparing periodic reports (Merlin internal and/or donor)
  • Supervise health session during the distribution of different kits for targeted community.
  • Supervise and Promote the utilization of services available at nearby health facilities by monitoring and supporting the activities of the PHC & CMAM H&NPS/ COS.
  • Other tasks as designated by the NBCC, PMC and other management.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience within a humanitarian aid organization on Health.
  • Experience working in Emergencies & humanitarian programmes
  • Community Mobilization work experience
  • Experience in coordination and networking
  • Have the confidence, initiative, patience and integrity to work independently
  • Knowledge of local area and language
  • Should be flexible in working days and timings
