Job Description:

  • Contribute towards the development of a limited number of projects, plans and processes, ensuring alignment with wider programme policies and guidance.
  • Provide project management support to specific and defined programmes and projects of small to moderate size that are relatively straight forward in nature, ensuring a coordinated approach with wider programmes that complies with WFP standards and procedures.
  • Follow data gathering and monitoring systems ensuring that rigorous quality standards are maintained.
  • Research and analyse policy and operational issues to support senior colleagues in the development of policies, programmes and activities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on programmes and activities that enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
  • Liaise with internal counterparts to ensure effective collaboration, monitor ongoing projects.
  • Support the identification, development and management of potential partnerships to collaborative working leading to improved food assistance packages.
  • Support the capacity building of WFP staff, partners and national government to prepare for and respond to food assistance needs, e.g. through project management support of learning initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to support staff, acting as a point of referral and assisting them with analysis and queries.

Job Requirements:

  • Provide specialized expertise and contribute towards the development of project activities, plans and processes within the field of Livelihoods, DRM/DRR and RAHA, ensuring alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines.
  • Prepare PRRO 2016-18 work plan for Cash for Work (CFW) programme with details of target areas for Balochistan, annual, quarterly and monthly targets, activity implementation/cash disbursement strategies;
  • Prepare operational plans, annual performance plans and specific MOUs and SOPs.
  • Identify the ODOC and NFI requirements for project activities.
  • Support Government and WFP Cooperating Partners (CPs) planning and formulation of quality projects that address the underlying causes of food insecurity.
  • Maintain regular coordination with the WFP’s cooperating partner and government and specialized project management support to a range of programmes to ensure that the various activities are performed within the established targets and objectives following WFP’s policies and procedures.
  • Foster relationships and support partnership-building with local partners, UN agencies, NGOs and government institutions to ensure efficient delivery of Livelihoods, DRM/DRR and RAHA activities.
  • Support the capacity building of WFP staff, cooperating partners and provincial government in Livelihoods, DRM/DRR and RAHA by organizing and leading project reviews, project orientation and training of staff.
  • Liaise with Government and WFP CPs to undertake field visits and review implementation of projects in order to ensure progress towards objectives, identify and analyze problems and recommend solutions.
  • Ensure regular monitoring of the project by ensuring field visits to the targeted areas and providing on the spot recommendations to the cooperating partner on identified gaps and meeting with the communities.
  • Ensure regular follow up on monitoring issues and sharing of findings with WFP management and cooperating partners.
  • Ensure close coordination with WFP support units (Logistics, M&E, Finance etc.) and with other WFP offices.
  • Lead and ensure accurate, timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex query resolution on all matters within the area of responsibility.
  • Submit regular progress reports to supervisor on all related projects and meeting deadline.
  • Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis. Review incoming documentation, such as reports and invoices from CPs
  • Perform other related duties as required.
