Project-Program Management: Project Management

Job Description:

  • Oversee the overall implementation of the nutrition components in all areas of operation under direct supervision of Nutritionist and/or PMC.
  • Oversee the overall management of acute malnutrition and provide technical guidance and training to the health team as well as ensure protocols are being adhered to and the SFPs and OTPs are operating within quality indicators;
  • Support the Camp Nutritionist in preparation of weekly and monthly Screening, SFP, OTP reports.
  • Followup on Preparation and submission of the timely Supply Request for supplies (UNIMIX/FBF, Plumpynuts and other relevant items)with the donor in consultation with district and provincial Nutrition Coordinator for ensuring smooth implementation of CMAM activities
  • Travel as required to areas of operation to supervise, build capacity and provide technical guidance to the Community level staffing (Social Mobilizers) and Facility based staffing (LHVs & Health Promoters) for the direct implementation of the nutrition interventions;
  • Liaise closely with the District & Provincial Project Coordinator and PMC, to ensure an integrated nutrition approach across sectors as well as coordination between PHC & Nutrition;
  • Where needed, oversee the piloted community nutrition approach and in close collaboration with the district Project Coordinator & district Nutrition Coordinator,Field Medical Staff implement strategies in line with the changing environment to ensure their effectiveness in improving child nutritional status;
  • In close collaboration with the field nutrition team, district Project Coordinator and district Nutrition Coordinator/Camp Nutritionist provide inputs into nutrition programme planning, proposal writing and reporting as required.
  • Coordinate with MoH representatives and Represent MERLIN at district nutrition coordination meetings in the absence of District nutrition coordinator.

Job Requirements:

  • Qualified Medical Professional(M.B.B.S), preferably MPH or MSC Human/ Clinical Nutrition.
  • Minimum 1 years experience in Public Health and at least 1 years experience of SFP/CMAM programmes as well as in management/coordination position with international organisations/agencies/UN agency;
  • Strong interpersonal and skills and ability to effectively work in a multi-cultural experience;
  • Fluent spoken and written English, Pashto and Urdu
  • Effective problem analysis and problem solving skills;
  • Willingness to travel to underdeveloped/volatile areas of Country;
  • Proven training and capacity building skills;Very enthusiastic and able to work extra hours to achieve the objectives of the programme.
